By requesting that our suppliers reduce or eliminate plastic wrap, we’re not only cutting down on waste but also encouraging a broader shift toward more eco-friendly practices within the industry.
Embracing Recycled Materials
Our commitment to reducing waste extends beyond just packaging. We also advocate for the use of recycled materials in the products we receive. We encourage our suppliers to utilize recycled boxes and materials when sending us their products. This practice not only helps conserve natural resources but also supports the recycling industry, creating a positive ripple effect throughout the supply chain.
Redesigning Gift Boxes for Sustainability
In the gifting industry, many standard gift boxes are coated with a laminate finish, which unfortunately makes them non-recyclable. Recognising the environmental impact of such coatings, we have taken a significant step by redesigning our gift boxes. We’ve removed the laminate coating and switched to using paper and cardboard for our boxes.
To ensure our boxes still have a professional and luxurious feel, we emboss the paper coating, giving them a textured and refined appearance. This thoughtful design choice means our boxes are fully recyclable. Also, if you remove the magnets from the boxes, they are also compostable!
Inside our gift boxes, we use fill made from recycled paper. This choice not only aligns with our commitment to sustainability but also ensures that the fill can be recycled or composted, further reducing waste.
